Exhibition "Che ci faccio io qui?" in Rome

The exhibition documents the condition of mothers and children in Italian prisons through photos shot by five accomplished photographers in as many women’s prisons. "Che ci faccio io qui?" is the result of the collaboration between the Contrasto photo agency and A Roma, Insieme, a voluntary association that has worked for thirteen years with the women of the Rebibbia prison in Rome.
The exhibition will be held in Rome, at Sala Santa Rita, from September 9th to the 29th, 2010.
It will stay open from Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Free entrance.

La mostra viene esposta in anteprima nell'ambito del festival RoveretoImmagini:
- da venerdì 16 luglio a domenica 8 agosto, presso la Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Trento e Rovereto
- da lunedì 16 agosto a domenica 5 settembre, presso la Galleria Espositiva, Fondazione Opera Campana dei Caduti








Hidden Islam by Nicolò Degiorgis exhibited in Paris

Immersion in European Islam, including through an exhibition on the Italian variety, with the Hidden Islam project by Nicolò Degiorgis, for the fifth edition of the 'Veillée du Ramadan', which will be inaugurated on September 2 by Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoe. 
The exhibition will be held at L'Institut des Cultures d'Islam, 19-23 rue Léon, 75018 Paris, and is staying open from Sept. 3rd until December, Tuesday to Saturday, from 2 p.m to 8 p.m.

During the second appointment to celebrate its decennial, the Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso, in collaboration with the association Paspartù and Contrasto, presents the "Northern Caucasus" exhibition by Davide Monteleone.
The "Northern Caucasus" is exhibited within the RoveretoImmagini festival:

Tommaso Ausili wins one prize at IPA

The prize winners of the International Photography Awards 2010 have been announced: Tommaso Ausili classified 3rd in the "Photo Essay" category with the multi-awarded project "The Hidden Death", and Albertina D'Urso's book, "Ti Moun Yo, Children of Haiti", published by Contrasto, won the 1st prize in the "Book: Documentary Pro" category.
Contrasto photographers also received some honorable mentions such as: Emiliano Mancuso, "Journey to Italy", "Feature Story" category;  Giulio Sarchiola, "Androids" and "Clinical Zone", "Feature Story" category;   Antonio Zambardino, "The Roadkill Program", "Feature Story" category;  Maurizio Cogliandro, "Lidia, the sky is falling","Deeper Perspective" category; Antonio Zambardino, "Tonga, below sea level", "Environmental" category.
